EndNote libraries that have been opened and used with EndNote version X or greater should not be subsequently used with an EndNote version earlier than version X. The program can later work as a “helper” application with Microsoft Word so that you can add consistently laid-out citations to a document that you are creating and create a sorted bibliography at its end. EndNote Web, a web-based implementation of EndNote, offers integration with the ISI Web of Knowledge. Endnote Online is the free limited online version of EndNote and is perfect for anyone new to research, writing and referencing. You can modify your copies of these references and add some notes. The Computing Service also runs several termly introductory courses on EndNoteĭesktop and on more advanced use of EndNote Desktop.ĮndNote Web enables you to search for relevant books and articles and store their citation details online. With EndNote Online you can: Use the Cite-While-You-Write toolbar to insert citations in any of thousands of bibliographic styles into the text and bibliography of Microsoft Word documents. It is free to use to members of the University as part of the UL's subscription to the Web of Knowledge database of references. EndNote Online is freely available to all UAB employees and students it makes the storage of citations and the formatting of them in a paper much easier.
